Secondly, your claim that it takes dev time to make a forum is nonsensical. Jagex recently popped up the patch notes forum out of nowhere, as well as a skilling cup forum. If you believe that opening up a little forum requires a hefty amount of dev time, you are vastly underestimating Jagex's skills.

Both of which are temp AFAIK.

patch notes forum is not temp AFAIK

Nope. The Rant forum is not a waste bin. It is more like a tree hole for those who don't get what they try to say accepted by other people, e.g. the Authorities.

When your post get moved to Rant, it only means your post is not constructive and doesn't belong in any Feedback forums.

well i have a constructive thread that was moved there so i disagree

So to hear that you disagree with the Fmod/Lmod/Jmod who moved your thread to Rant. I don't know what thread you are referring to and I have no interest to know and it doesn't matter to most forum users probably, but the moral of the story is when the forum authorities say your thread is unconstructive and better be situated in the Rant forums, then you can either agree with them or use the FMR (if applicable). :D

The new section is something for the short term, the idea is to eventually push patch notes to their own news posts, but they're in a new section for now just to keep it away from RGU, as we unsticky patch note posts in RGU they get lost and eventually deleted when they hit page 50 of RGU, I'd rather not lose them at all.

Agreed.

If you disagree with what a mod did, best to take it to FMR.

Not discuss it on a thread where it doesnt belong.

Even if rants threads were meaningless (they're not), adding an OSRS rants forum would actually help developers find the more "meaningful" feedback in the relevant forums, by giving OSRS rants a clear place to go.

Im pretty sure they already do by reading the relevant threads.

Thus no need for yet another dead forum.
Proof it'd be dead?

Whether they're temporary or not has zero relevance to the fact that adding/removing a forum is not a lengthy process by any means.

Jagex clearly stated The Rants Forum is the place for feedback not belong in existing forums. They also added Rant is not a primary source of feedback for them.

Obviously, they told us to use the regular feedback forums for anything meaningful, and hence there is no merit to spend precious development time to make 9000 more sub-rant forums.

Rant is already a Runescape Lounge subforum, none of the subforums there are differentiated into RS3 or OSRS. Why should Jagex do anything special to the lest constructive forums of them all in Runescape Lounge? :D

Patch Notes and Skilling Cup forums are all constructive. They are no Rant forums. They are also specific to Runescape (RS3) only, that's why we only see them under the Runescape Game forum but not OSRS.

Jmods and Lmods can post on off-topic forums too but certainly it doesn't mean Off-Topic is constructive for any Jagex game. I believe Jmods and Fmods are allow to rant (or post unconstructive feedback) and express their off topics ideas too.
