It seems pretty apparent to me.

Individual: "We don't allow topics that are controversial like race, religion."
Code of Conduct: "Though politics and religion threads are now permitted."
...

.... If this thread had been worded more appropriately and sincerely and the discussion wasn't distasteful, this thread might have done some good for honoring other things... The moderation in general is consistent however. We don't allow topics that are controversial like race, religion, etc on these forums and this thread was treading on that controversial line. Like I said earlier, if the thread had been more appropriate and structured with good intentions - then there wouldn't have been any problems at all.

It still is a matter of common sense.
The difference explained between yours "don't" & "permitted".

What on earth are you wittering on about?

Such topics are allowed in OT and have been for a long time.
Without warning a JMod says they are not even though no formal announcement of such has been made and no other F or J Mod knows anything about a Rule change.

So either ther CoC is wrong, or the JMod is wrong. That is what Chief is trying to establish.

"We don't allow topics that are controversial like race, religion, etc on these forums and this thread was treading on that controversial line".

Bullshit.

Hey Chief Elf,

First of all, I'd like to assure you that all of our F-Mods and J-Mods look into each report and follow the CoC as it is. We all know the CoC around here and there is no "inconsistency" within the moderation. Both our F-Mods and our CM team do a very good job making sure that the forums are in tip-top shape.

In regards to my comment to you, I simply wrote my response to you incorrectly. It was a personal mistake. Myself and the team know that it's allowed to be spoken about but I wrote it in the wrong context to you. Yes, religion and race are allowed to be spoken about but there's a fine line on what you can or can't talk about. As stated in the CoC, threads with those topics are moderated more heavily. Ultimately when it comes to those topics, it's a judgement call.

I'm sorry about the mistake and I hope that clears up any confusion. I have since edited my response so that it is worded better.

I've locked this thread since I've hopefully cleared everything up.

Like I said, it was just a mistake on my end, I should have worded my response better so it made sense within the CoC.
