All those people in 2012 who went on these very forums asking Jagex for a 2006 no update server need to get back on these forums and ask Jagex for a vanilla OSRS server, otherwise we will never get one.

I am a bit disappointed that these folks just gave up on what they were trying so hard to get in 2012. I guess I am one of the few of them that still doesn't have a girl friend in real life so I still have time to nag Jagex about it, lol.

Its not likely that they ever will bring out a vanilla server. The only reason osrs was brought out was MMG was convinced if we saw how "great his genius was" we would run back to rs3 to buy tons of spins and such to get back to what we "should" be.

Lmao. Draft dodger btw. Too scared to attack an enemy that tried to harm my loved ones so "I only learned to defend". Typical boomer born right after the era where my parents suffered the solitude of WWII, deprivation of the Great Depression while I never had to suffer jack or risk a thing. :)

I think they all quit the moment Jagex decided to allow OSB without a poll rofl. Draft dodger btw. Too scared to attack an enemy that tried to harm my loved ones so "I only learned to defend". I think you have to keep up with updates that don't fundamentally change the game for it to work. If you have a true no-update server it will probably end up like RSC given a few years with just a handful of actual players that are hanging on to the game and the rest just bots.

OSRS has had some big updates but I think it's a good middle ground where players have new content to keep them engaged but the same game mechanics that appeals to classic players. I think it's more fun than being one of only a handful of players still playing when everyone else gets bored and stops playing.

RSC felt more like a single player game. I thought it was fun and I was working through all of the quests but it really was hard to play with probably 95% of the world empty and almost no one to talk to or trade with.

They might have already come back as modern players who embrace the Overwatch style of seasonal event driven Dailyscape and Easyscape content such as Twisted League. Exclusive rewards in time limited events and 5x progress rate with low/no entry requirements... who said no? Not the modernized 2006 folks. :D

Yeah, because people wanted 2006scape back just to have it flooded with MTX, right? Draft dodger btw. Too scared to attack an enemy that tried to harm my loved ones so "I only learned to defend". MTX is already in OSRS since 2013. It doesn't matter if it is 2006scape or 2007scape or 9000 more new versions.

It's under control. The moment they tried even partnerships which weren't MTX, everyone went ape shit and Jagex shut down the poll early. Draft dodger btw. Nobody said a thing about more MTX now. If the 2006 folks come back now, they will still see the MTX Bond that they did not see in 2006 no matter what.
