Abaddon, Destroyer of Worlds
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv

This idea deals with a new boss to the OSRS world named Abaddon. It is designed for groups of 4-6 (more than 10 could actually make it harder), but nothing will prevent this boss from being soloable technically, although I imagine that would be very difficult and take some time.

Abaddon is only accessible after completing the Master quest Eye of the Storm, sequel to Shadow of the Storm. It is detailed in this thread as well.

Hullbreaker Isle

After completing the quest, you gain access to Hullbreaker Isle and its "ammenities". Among these are Level 140 monsters that drop charges for the teleport item to the island (Bag of Tainted Ash, they drop Tainted Ash).

Also, at four points around the island are small sub-islands containing four demi-bosses:
~ Krill'lik (Level 260) - attacks with Melee only but attacks every 0.6 seconds. Can be Protected against. Unique Drops: Top-Left Infernal Shield Piece

~ Vazra (Level 220) - attacks with Ranged and Magic and uses the opposite Protection Prayer (Melee is the slowest, but easiest method to fight her.) Unique Drops: Bottom-Left Infernal Shield Piece

~Sun'nura (Level 200) - attacks with Magic and Melee that cannot be protected against and has AoE splash attacks that must be avoided (Ranged is super effective.) Unique Drops: Bottom-Right Infernal Shield Piece

~Quellix (Level 300) - attacks with only Ranged but drains Prayer rapidly and inflicts Venom. Unique Drops: Top-Right Infernal Shield Piece

* All of the demi-bosses drop Summoning Shards and Roasted Hellrat as well.

Abaddon, Destroyer of Worlds
Level: 3310
All combat stats: 900
Hitpoints: 10,000
Max hit (with all styles): 91
--------------------
Team Capes are useful at Abaddon for a variety of purposes. Chiefly, you can speak to the Eye of Zamorak Head Mage to toggle on worldwide notifications concerning Abaddon for everyone wearing your Team Cape in your world. (After the quest, this Eye of Zamorak mage becomes your ally after seeing the monstrosity that is Abaddon.)

This boss is also designed to be a siege-style boss that takes several coordinated trips among a large group to fully take down. This is not a campable boss that can be taken down in a single trip.

Down in the Hellmouth, you find the staging ground. Here, there's a bank chest and prayer altar and Grand Exchange vendor (who charges 1,000 gp to use), and this GE vendor only has 1 GE slot for you to use (independent of the slots you have in Varrock). All players joining in the fight must tag the Infernal Pillar in the middle of the staging room. Players with matching Team Capes will be grouped together. An interface on the screen shows the number of Team-Cape-matching players in the Hellmouth, how many in the world currently, and a timer counting down to the fight. It will also show Abaddon's HP once the fight begins, and the timer will count upward to show the length of the fight.

If anyone inside the Hellmouth with your Team Cape is a first-timer, there is no cost to fight Abaddon. Otherwise, there is a cost of 4 Summoning Shards that must be paid by someone by Using them on the Infernal Pillar. (Summoning Shards are dropped by the 4 demi-bosses.)
Once the timer reaches 0, you descend deeper into the cavern, and the fight against Abaddon begins!

>> Phase 1: 5,000 - 10,000 HP <<
Abaddon is so big that he remains stationary in the middle of the arena. He does not walk around.

Abaddon attacks with two rotations of attacks. Rotation A is done normally. If Abaddon takes 150 or more damage in a 3-second window, he switches to Rotation B for one round, then back to Rotation A. Abaddon MUST execute all attacks in Rotations A and B at least once for Phase 1 to end - otherwise, he becomes impervious to any damage at 5,000 HP until Rotation B completes once.

~ Rotation A: Pummel, Sulfur Bomb, Pummel, Infernal Agony, Pummel, Sulfur Bomb, Torturous Blast

1. Pummel (Melee, AoE, targeted) - max hit 91. This is his most common attack. This is a Melee attack targeted on a specific player, but will hit any player in a 3x3 area of that player. He can reach out up to 9 steps away to execute this atatck. He is blue during this attack (his default color). Can be blocked entirely by Prayer. When switching to this attack, an animation plays where he flexes his arm muscles.

2. Sulfur Bomb (Ranged, AoE, targeted) - max hit 91. His second-most common attack. This is a Ranged attack targeted on an area, not a player, and will inflict damage in a 5x5 area around the targeted area. Players hit will take damage and be inflicted with Venom. He is yellow during this attack. Damage can be blocked by Prayer, but not Venom. Can be avoided by moving out of the way. When switching to this attack, an animation displays where is coughing up the sulfur bomb.

3. Infernal Agony (Magic, AoE, direct line) - max hit 91. This is his main Magic attack. When beginning this attack, he will position each hand up in a "stop" signal and a fireball will generate on it. Two seconds later, the arena will ignite in two straight lines coming from the fireballs, towards the back of the arena. Can be avoided entirely by moving out of the way. Can be blocked by Prayer. He is crimson during this attack. The direct-line of attack is 3 squares wide and goes to the back of the arena.

4. Torturous Blast (Magic, arena-wide) - max hit 80. He reels over in agony and glows brightly. 3 seconds later, he unleashes a blast that rocks the entire arena. If you are facing him, this does up to 80 unavoidable damage. If you are facing away from him, this does halved damage. Prayer has no effect on this attack.

~ Rotation B: When in Rotation B, Abaddon will execute each of these attacks in sequence once, then return to Rotation A.

1. Soul Split (Typeless, arena-wide) - max hit 49. Ethereal energy comes out of him and rushes around the arena. Every player's HP is halved, and the HP drained is healed by Abaddon.

2. Rend (Ranged, targeted, AoE) - max hit 91. A target appears and swirls around one player as Abaddon takes aim. Then, moments later, he delivers a massive blow, dealing 75-91 damage to the player and anyone in a 3x3 area around that player. For the targeted player, this damage is unavoidable.

3. Bodach Swarm (Summoning attack) - max hit N/A. Abaddon cackles loudly as he summons a swarm of 4-9 Bodachs (Level 80). These are very similar to Shadows in the Temple of Light. They can stack on the same square and move very rapidly, but only have 10 HP. Their attack does not do damage in the traditional sense. Instead, they attack every 0.6 seconds, halving the target's Prayer Points (rounding down). If the target's Prayer points drain to 0, they instead damage the target for half of their HP. Very, very deadly if not dealt with quickly.

4. Darkness Descends (Special attack) - max hit N/A. The arena goes dark and every player begins taking rapid damage, along with draining Prayer points. Abaddon must take 100 damage from Arclight (Darklight counts for 0.5 damage for each point of damage if you don't have Arclight), combined by all players, for this attack to end. If it doesn't, death is assured.

>> Phase 2: 1,000 HP - 4,999 HP <<

In this Phase, Abaddon gains a new Rotation that is executed every time after Torturous Blast in Rotation A finishes.

~ Rotation C: Abaddon will do these attacks in sequence, then resume with Rotation A.

1. Summon Infernal Implings (Summoning attack) - max hit N/A. Abaddon summons 4 Infernal Implings, who begin to slowly heal Abaddon. Each of these have 250 HP, but if an Infernal Impling is more than 25 HP lower than any of the other Infernal Implings, it takes no damage. Therefore, teamwork and coordination must be done to bring these down together before they heal Abaddon too much.

2. Reckoning (Ranged attack, targeted, AoE) - max hit 60. Abaddon pounds the ground furiously as molten pieces of the ceiling crash down in 6 random places around the arena in a 5x5 area, inflicting up to 60 damage and damage over time for anyone remaining in those areas for the next 15 seconds.

>> Phase 3: 0-999 HP <<

Once Abaddon reaches below 1k Health, he begins the final phase of the fight. In this phase, previous moves are abandoned, as he attacks with only Melee attacks (and he forces everyone to within Melee range) every 1.2 seconds. These attacks can only be partially avoided by Protect Melee. The final blow must be dealt by Arclight (or, with decreased chances of success, Darklight).

========================
========================

Drops:
Every participant will receive some supply drops to compensate for the time and money spent on the fight. In addition, for every successful kill of Abaddon, 4 participants will be selected (some could be selected multiple times) for a roll on the uniques drop table.

REWARDS:

1. Infernal Shield (Level 75 Attack, Magic, and Defense) - a two-handed shield. The pieces to make it are obtained from the demi-bosses, and it can be Smithed back together. All pieces are Rare and untradeable. The completed shield is tradeable. It can autocast Fire spells and provides unlimited fire runes. In addition, it can be used as a Melee weapon to bash opponents with. It has a Special Attack Incinerate: 50%, Magic - inflict up to 20% of your current Magic Level as damage to an opponent, or 40% against demons. The shield also blocks 40% of all damage received from demonic enemies.

2. Summoning Shards - dropped by demi-bosses. 4 of these are needed to summon Abaddon, after the first encounter. Tradeable. Uncommon drop.

3. Roasted Hellrat - a new food dropped by the demi-bosses and by Abaddon. This food, when eaten will immediately heal 16 HP and deplete 2 Prayer Points, and restore 1 Hitpoint every 6 seconds for the next 60 seconds. This restoration does not stack with multiple pieces consumed, it just resets timer. This food heals 0 HP if you do not have 2 Prayer Points to deplete. Common drop. Tradeable.

4. Arclight Upgrade Scroll - a scroll dropped by Abaddon. Rare. When used on Arclight, it will upgrade the weapon, making its transformation permanent and reducing its Special Attack to 25% use. Additionally, up to 4 ancient shards can be used on it to give it 2500 charges per shard. 1 charge will be consumed when dealing an attack on a demonic enemy, giving the weapon +10% damage and +10% accuracy. Tradeable.

5. Holy Water Upgrade Scroll - a scroll dropped by Abaddon. Rare. When consumed, all Holy Water you make will become Holy Water (e). Holy Water (e) can be used against any enemy, not just demons, and gains a 15% passive effect of doing 1.5x damage as the chatbox says "The Holy Water reveals the true evils of your enemies!" Against demons, this 15% passive effect instead does triple damage. Tradeable.

6. Atonement Prayer Scroll - a scroll dropped by Abaddon. Very Rare. When consumed, you learn the Atonement Prayer (Level 75). This prayer is an Overhead Prayer that drains at a rate of 1 point per 6 seconds. Its effect is to increase the chance of obtaining a rare unique item as a monster drop, based on the length of time the Prayer has been active and your current Prayer bonus. The exact formula is a multiplicative increase equal to (S+B)/10 % , where S is the number of seconds (max of 60) the Prayer has been active, and B is your current Prayer Bonus. So for example, if you have the Prayer active for the past 4 minutes with a Prayer bonus of +10, you have a (60+10)/10% = 7% boosted rate (multiplicatively) of unique drops. For instance, the Tanzanite Fang is 1/1024. With a 7% boost, it'd be 1/957. Tradeable.

7. Blessings Prayer Scroll - a scroll dropped by Abaddon. Very Rare. When consumed, you learn the Blessings Prayer (Level 75). This prayer is NOT an Overhead Prayer and drains at a rate of 1 point per 12 seconds. Its effect is to increase the amount that certain foods heal, based on how long you've had the Prayer active. The exact formula is 4(M+1)%, where M is the number of 60-second periods (minutes) the Prayer has been consecutively active, capped at 20%. The amount healed is rounded down to the nearest integer. For instance, Sharks normally heal 20. If this Prayer has been active for 2 minutes, Sharks would instead heal 22. Tradeable.

8. Demonic Parchments - dropped by Abaddon. Common. Can be traded in to the Eye of Zamorak Head Mage for boosts on the island. Dropped 5-100 at a time. Not tradeable.
-250: Deal 50% more damage to Abaddon for the next 10 encounters.
- 500: Next 3 deaths while fighting Abaddon will respawn on the island.
- 750: Take halved damage versus Abaddon for the next 10 encounters.
-1,000: Deal 100% more damage to Abaddon for the next 5 encounters.
-2,000: Take halved damage and deal 100% more damage to Abaddon for the next 5 encounters.
-5,000: Permanently deal 50% more damage to Abaddon (stacks with other boosts purchased here).
- 5,000: Unlocks ability at Eye of Zamorak Mage to swap Parchments for Vouchers. This is done by trading any Parchments you want to sell to the Eye of Zamorak Head Mage who will trade them for Parchment Vouchers of an equal number. The Parchment Vouchers can then traded on the GE/to players directly. The Vouchers can then be traded back to the Eye of Zamorak Head mage for an equal number of Parchments. Estimated GE value of Parchment Vouchers is 50,000 GP.
-10,000: Permanently take halved damage versus Abaddon.
-25,000: Purchase The Destroyer pet.

~ Eye of the Storm ~
===================

Quest series: Demon Slayer, part 3
Difficulty: Master
Length: Medium
Requirements:
Completed Shadow of the Storm
Completed Recipe for Diaster: Freeing Evil Dave
Completed Cabin Fever
Partial completion of The Restless Ghost
85 Combat Level is recommended
To start: Speak to Gypsy Aris in Varrock.

Gypsy Aris will congratulate you on your recent escapades, but informs you that those that seek to summon demonkind into Gielinor continue to do so. She says that a group calling themselves the Eye of Zamorak have been rumored to be working to summon a massive demon and asks you to investigate. She says a certain evil friend may be of use.
Recruit Evil Dave, who has already known about the workings of the Eye of Zamorak "through the evil grapevine", actually already accepted an invitation from the Eye itself to join, and is totally excited to join you in investigating. (Note: There's no "real" story reason why Evil Dave is included in the quest. He's mostly there to invoke jokes and humor along the way.) Travel east of Varrock to the digsite to hear rumblings of the group at work far east of Morytania and that someone in Port Phastmatys should know more.

There, speak to the ghosts in Port Phasmatys who will inform you of a radical group of Zamorakian mages who left on a ship to Mos Le'Harmless several days ago. After heading to Mos Le'Harmless, you'll learn of a group of mages who left towards the east the night before, but a dangerous storm has formed in the direction the boat left, and they are feared dead. The pirates on Mos Le'Harmless also laugh and say if I want to join them, I better be appropriately evil. Evil Dave says he can help with that.

Evil Dave takes you to Varrock where you go to the members-only shopping store and he fits you out in the most totally super evil attire he can find for you and makes you look spectacularly wicked. Travel back to Mos Le'Harmless, and take a boat towards the Storm. Along the way, your boat must traverse through a powerful hurricane. You and Dave have to repair the ship and keep it afloat through the dangerous storm. Eventually, you arrive in the eye of the storm and to an island called Hullbreaker Isle.

Here on the island are Zamorakian mages all working towards building something. Eventually, you work your way to the head of the group, who calls himself Zanku. He is astonished with how dedicated to the evil arts you both look and asks who you are and why you are here. Evil Dave stops you from responding and answers that you two were both involved in the summoning of Delrith and Agrith'Naar and feel like the two of you could devote some appropriate awesome and evil credence to the whole affair. Zanku is impressed with your resume and offers the two of you to join the Eye of Zamorak.

Zanku informs the two of you that they are in the final stages of summoning Abaddon, the demon Zamorak himself called the Destroyer of Worlds due to his immense destructive power. In fact, Zamorak himself feared unleashing Abaddon upon the world and chose not to during the Third Age. After further questioning, you find out that the Eye of Zamorak have somehow procured an artifact vial filled with glowing liquid called the Sin of Zamorak. This vial possesses immense power, but is good for one use only. Here on Hullbreaker Isle, the boundary between the infernal realms and this world are very weak, and here in the eye of the storm, demonic powers are amplified. Therefore, Zanku and his followers believe they have what is needed to summon Abaddon.

Zanku says a few more items are needed to complete the summoning and asks you to help. He needs Imp Hide, Cadavaberry Extract , and Burnt Bone Dust. Evil Dave is asked to stay behind and help setup the stage that Abaddon will be summoned to - Dave can't contain himself with the "show" that he is going to help produce. Zanku gives you a Bag of Tainted Ash and says to toss a handful in the air when you plan to return.

Head to collect the items. For the Imp Hide, you'll need to use a knife on a wandering Imp. For the Cadavaberry Extract, Use some Cadava Berries on an empty vial. Finally, for the Burnt Bone Dust, grind a Burnt Bone with a Mortar & Pestle. If you try to use the Bag of Tainted Ash, it will not work - instead, Gypsy Aris will intervene in the teleport and telepathically speak to you, asking you to see her immediately.

Upon speaking with Gypsy Aris, she says that she senses extremely dark arts at work here, far worse than those of Delrith or Agrith-Naar. She says to be totally prepared when choosing to return to Hullbreaker Isle, and to bring the strongest weapon you can find to defeat a demon. When asked about the Sin of Zamorak, she says she knows not what the "Sin" is, but knows it is an artifact of immense power, and how the Eye came to possess it, she is very worried. She wishes you the best of luck.

To your dismay, the ritual is already underway! Evil Dave is tied up and held dangling over a large sinkhole, Zanku chanting dark magic words around him. You run up to the scene and yell to stop, but Zanku laughs. He says the "items" he asked for were just to waste your time and get you out of his hair - in truth, Evil Dave had already been handpicked by the Eye after hearing of his pathetic excuses for summoning demons - hellrats. Dave was the last ingredient needed for the summoning - a human sacrifice.

Zanku tosses the Sin of Zamorak into the hellmouth sinkhole, as it glows brightly and produces a giant Summoning Shard that Zanku takes. He then tells Dave to speak his last words. Dave speaks an incantation and suddenly...dozens of hellrats swarm the area... ... ... BUT! The brief moment of chaos (and laughter) is enough for you to rush the scene, slice Dave's rope and pull him from the hellmouth. Zanku yells for the rest of his cult to attack.
Zanku takes the Summoning Shard and splits it into four and hands a piece to each of his four officers who run off to small islands around Hullbreaker Isle to summon smaller (but still powerful!) demons. Zanku stays at the main summoning site and speaks incantations, preparing for the summon of Abaddon.

You must kill each of the four bosses: Krill'lik, Vazra, Sun'nura, and Quellix. Each are Level 200-300 demi-bosses and are similar in difficulty to the Wilderness bosses. You do NOT have to defeat all four in the same trip. Krill'lik attacks with Melee only but attacks every 0.6 seconds (Protect Melee is advised). Vazra attacks with Ranged and Magic only and uses the opposite Protection Prayer (Melee easiest, but slowest). Sun'nura attacks with Magic and Melee that cannot be protected against and has AoE splash attacks that must be avoided (Ranged is most effective). Quellix attacks with only Ranged but drains Prayer rapidly and inflicts Venom.

Each one you kill will grant you one Summoning Shard. When all four have been killed, travel up to Zanku. He mocks you at your bravado and foolishness, that you have stopped nothing, and one way or another, Abaddon will be summoned! He telegrabs the Summoning Shards from you, attaches them into one big Summoning Shard, says some incantation, and stabs himself in the chest, throwing himself and the Summoning Shard into the hellmouth. It glows brightly, and the island begins to shake violently.

Evil Dave runs in and says it's time to do what he does best - run! He takes you by the hand and teleports you both away to Varrock to Gypsy Aris's tent. She informs you that the worst has taken place - that Abaddon has been summoned in the Eye of the Storm. She says this is a threat that must be confronted and dealt with, but only with a group of experienced adventurers and demon slayers. She begs you to assemble a team to banish him once again, but that it need wait for another day.

CONGRATULATIONS! You have completed The Eye of the Storm Quest!
You are awarded:
1 Quest Point
Tome of Knowledge (3 wishes for 10k experience for skills over 30)
Totally Evil Wardrobe Set
Bag of Tainted Ash
Ability to obtain Roasted Hellrat
Access to Hullbreaker Isle and its Bosses
==============================

~ Totally Evil Wardrobe Set: Actually obtained during the quest. This is the items that Evil Dave gives to you to totally look the part of an evil cult member.

~ Bag of Tainted Ash: Actually obtained during the quest. During the quest, it gives unlimited teleports to Hullbreaker Isle. After the quest, it has 8 charges and must be recharged with Tainted Ash from bosses/monsters on Hullbreaker Isle.

~ Roasted Hellrat: After the quest, Dave decides to put his summoning prowess of hellrats to business use! You can pay him 1,000 gp for 10 minutes to catch as many hellrats as you can in his basement - there's a high chance your cat will eat it or let it go, though, only a small number wind up in your inventory. With Level 64 Cooking, these can be cooked to create Roasted Hellrat, with a 90% chance of burning. This chance decreases 1% every Cooking Level above 64 you are. You can also obtain this new food at the bosses on Hullbreaker Isle.

~ Hullbreaker Isle: On the island are Level 140 Eye of Zamorak Mages who can be killed (notably drop Tainted Ash). Beyond this, there is the chamber in the middle leading to Abaddon and the four sub-islands containing the four demi-bosses fought during the quest.

This is NOT clan scape. We do not need more things that require you to be part of a clan.

Firstly, it does not require you to be part of a clan. But a group of 4-8 are likely needed to take it down. Secondly, there's 4 demi-bosses on the island that are there for solo and small group play that drop valuable items also (like the Infernal Shield). Thirdly, once you've become experienced fighting Abaddon (especially with the boosts available via Parchments), it could likely be done with 2 or 3 people.

This is NOT meant to be a "clanscape" update. That being said, there IS room in the game currently for content beyond soloable content.

I'm not sure what your aversion to clans are? There IS room in the game for updates based on group play. It does not have to be clans, but this is by no means meant to be a soloable boss. There is content for solo players in the update (the demi-bosses), but the main boss will require a group of at least 4 usually, and often 8-10. To me, that screams "clans" and other organized groups. You may not like it, but there's a need for that type of group content in the game currently, as most of the PvM content is centered on solo or 1-2 people. This is there to give medium and large groups content that they can shine at. Don't like it? Fine, don't support it. But the team/group-component of this update is crucial and important for the game, I feel. (And for what it's worth, I'm a solo player, not a member of a clan or PvM group. But I still feel diversity of updates is important for the game.)

To make you a little happier, I've removed the mention you quote from the OP. However, the group flavor of this update cannot be avoided - it is not and is not intended to be a solo venture.

Yes there is, but trying to turn the game into clanscape so that its IMPOSSIBLE to play the game the way it was design is wrong.

What are you talking about? "The way it was designed" = solo? I doubt it, considering it's an MMO. The Corp Beast is a piece of content that is hard/near-impossible to solo, this is similar. There is content here for solo'ers. But the main content is for groups.

MMO does not equal clanscape. It means there is constantly people competing. When the game was created, you were suppose to compete on the high score list. In the last few years people have decided the game is goldscape or bis scape. That does not mean it was ever meant to be that.

The game was created for soloist to compete against everyone else. That is why there was no pm or clan chat or anything of that nature in the early days.

Just because people were soloist did not mean we did not interact. In the very beginning we could fight anywhere except the court yard and castle. Within a few weeks they moved that to only in the wild. No one made clans, because there was no use for them. It was not until rs2 came out and you had multiway combat zones that clans made an appearance.

In addition, you could trade, and talk to people near you. None of that mean you were not a soloist. Being a soloist meant that you only advance by what you did. As an example, look at the death dots near the abyss monk. The purpose was so that any skiller that was killed could not possibly kill the person that killed him a few minutes before. IF a rcer manage to find the person that did pk him, and he was winning, all the pker would have to do is turn off his auto attack and then stop fighting. After a few second someone else would take over. That meant that there was no risk to being a pker at the abyss. Your clan would protect you so you could advance your bank safely from their assistance.

lol I've been around since 2004, so I know how it used to be. Doesn't mean things can't change.

A couple of points that I want to be crystal clear:

1. This does NOT require clans. There's a reason I didn't utilize Clan Chat, I used Team Capes. Any small group of about 4 players should be able to take this down with practice.

2. There is NOTHING that says this boss cannot be solo'd. It is not designed to be soloable, and in fact, it is designed with a group of 4-6 players to tackle. However, with appropriate boosts and experience, I find it very likely that this boss could be (inefficiently) solo'd. Unlike the CB, I did not mention any implementation of HP resetting upon leaving. To solo well, it'd likely require several of the Parchment boosts gained as rewards and some of the best gear in the game, but there's built-in ways to avoid most of the damage from this boss. The only difficulty for solo'ers would be the "damage check" of having to inflict 150 damage in 3 seconds, but with the boosts gained, it is definitely possible. However, truly soloing this thing will probably require extensive killing it in groups first to gain the Parchments needed and the experience fighting it needed.

EDIT: In fact, I did some math...

With the boosts possible from Parchments, almost all of the danger in fighting Abaddon goes away. You can get a permanent 50% decrease in damage done, which if you combine it with the Infernal Shield, results in a 70% decrease in damage without having to do any Prayers (40% damage reduction on the 50% damage you're taking is 20%, so 50%+20% = 70%). You can additionally purchase temporary boosts on top of this to halve the damage further, taking only 15% of damage, reducing Abaddon's max hit from 91 to 13, and that's if you're not using any Prayers. At 70% reduction, 91 becomes 26, still soloable. And with the Parchment boosts on the offensive side of things, you could easily be doing 100+ damage to him in an attack.

So yes, I think he COULD be solo'd. Eventually.

But wait! You exclaim -- solo'ing this content at any skill level is locked behind the Parchments, an untradeable item that must be obtained over dozens or hundreds of raids with a clan/group before you can solo it in the method I described above....which is true. To alleviate this, I've provided an alternative, and a way that killers of this boss can make more money. I've added an unlock at 5,000 Parchments that essentially makes the Parchments tradeable to players. The player (who has unlocked this ability) with unneeded Parchments can swap them at the Head Mage for an equal number of Vouchers - the Vouchers are tradeable on the GE and with players directly. These Vouchers can be traded back in to the Head Mage for an equal number of untradeable Parchments. I've estimated the GE value of these Vouchers to be 50,000.

This way, if someone really wants to solo Abaddon (or easily take him down in groups of 2-4 for farming purposes, maybe) and doesn't want to spend dozens or hundreds of kills in a group for the Parchments, they can choose to pay 500m gp+ for the boosts necessary. Expensive, but it's a powerful ability as well, essentially unlocking "easy mode" of a tough boss.
