6ansaid: If you read anything in my OP I suggested limiting it. Ofc a full blown double XP weekend would ruin a lot. Experience caps on the boost so once a player reaches it the XP goes back to zero. The cap will follow current levels to balance it. What I'm suggesting is just a small boost, it's not going to get anyone to 99, it's not going to get anyone in leader boards. It's just going to give some incentive for a lot of people to all be playing at the same time. A very small reward but a reward. Why is it such a bad thing?Saying "there will be a cap" is meaningless unless you actually say what the cap is. If it's a high cap, then yeah it's damaging to the game. If it's a low cap, then what is the point of adding double XP? You're basically just adding something that will blur the line between osrs and rs3 for no good reason. It will piss off the vets that associate this instant gratification easyscape with the downfall of rs, while dangling a tiny bonus in front of a certain group of players for whom it will never be enough. The 'gimme more free stuff now, I want everything without earning it' segment of the playerbase will never be satisfied until they are logging on to a free 1mil XP lamp every weekend.
As a recent return fueled by nostalgia, I'm finding some skills already too 'quick' to train compared to my xp - but believe the rates are at a good mix for what the community want. RuneScape is a grind game but in my humble opinion it's a positive part of this gaming world.
Also, no matter how you trying to prevent it, double xp event screws with the economy, and we can see from Runescape 3 how that turned out with everything being a stinky mess months afterwards.Remember, you are here for ever.

If you wanna get it out, do it on an online platform please. I don't want anyone getting harmed physically.
