Off topic: Am I the only one who interprets the Tumeken's Dream lore to mean that Het was never a real human in the real world, Crondis was never a real crocodile, etc. - that they were all parts of himself that he encountered in his *dream* and brought into real being? "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you[...]For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have?

I think the only evidence against it might be when Icthlarin essentially regressed into a dog in Sliske's endgame.

Well Icthlarin and Amascut weren't created in the Dream, so their original species aren't evidence against the idea.

The main issue I'd bring up against it is that the only other example we have of a god creating another divine being was Bandos and his avatar and that needed a host (though that is more likely attributable to needing to circumvent the Edicts).

Beyond that. the only other thing I'd bring up is that the only other time a god created a being with a personality separate to their own was an accident. When Seren originally created Haluned and Eluned, the two were perfectly aware that they were Seren. They just allowed Seren to exist in multiple places at once. Even when Seren sent Haluned away with the darker aspects of her personality, Haluned (the Dark Lord) still identified herself as Seren.

It took Seren shattering herself and one of her pieces singing itself into the form of the original Eluned for Seren to create a being with an identity separate from her own.

Though I suppose if Tumeken did create them in an actual dream that could have made the process subconscious-driven enough to generate identities separate from the original Tumeken.

I personally hope they were actual things in the real world though (just so we could maybe get a reveal of Het having been a statue that originally stood in the Shanty Pass that Tumeken mistook for a human).

Then why revert into a dog at all? I dont think he was born a god. I don't even think Icthlarin is the son of Tumeken in the bilogical sense, but more like how Zaros/Seren are to Mah. Mah was their 'Mother' because she was their creator -they were 'born' in a dream.

I think the fact that Icthlarin became a dog in Sliske's Endgame proves that Icthlarin used to be just that, a dog. Just as Saradomin became a human, Armadyl an Avianses, etc.

So I'm almost certain my suggestion and your second suggestion are true.

I read that thread about the Shanty Pass -would make for a cool backstory!

Also, I only just 'got into' lore so it's all kinda patchy. So keep the corrections coming

I seriously don't get why everyone goes to him nuking the desert as proof of his power. Remember Tumeken used ALL OF HIS DIVINE POWER to do that. If he was a tier 3 god he could have done that without killing himself. Also the damage done to the wilderness is far greater than the damage done to make the desert. We also have nothing to compare Tumeken as a benchmark. No other god has detonated all of their divine power so we don't know what would happen if say Saradomin blew himself up to compare.
Balance within one's self
and
balance within the world
balance must be maintained.

We have already moved on from that

Yes it was confirmed post-quest (if you talk to Iccy at the River Noumenon) that he used to be just a dog. Personally I don't like the retcon, but that's the lore.

I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?
- We call it being a hero.

I'm not disagreeing with you about Icthlarin. Here's the thing though: Icthlarin and Amascut were not made in Tumeken's Dream. According to the tale, they came before the dream.

Tumeken's Dream describes the creation of the 4 minor desert gods: Het, Apmekan, Crondis, and Scabaras (and in that order).
