Saw a 20b giveaway for a guy leaving for the military apparently, i just came back to runescape after not playing this game for years and entered my password on a fake runescape forums website, it asked for my authenticator info but i backed out and now im banned. Why do bans from the game ban you from the forums? that makes no sense but now i have to wait 2 days before i can even see what i had stolen from me. is there not a way to see the history on accounts for the atleast 10 years i had my account and have never been banned for anything, im not even sure what a 3rd party thing is. Im on an old pk account of mine since im not allowed on the forum on my main but if any mods are able to help somehow?

Hi there
Mage Me Now0

Sadly, you will have to wait out the time before you can log in and check what has happened.

I recommend you review your security while you wait.
As a returning player, you might not be on top of current security features and recommendations.
Work through this page: Securing your account

You will have to wait until the temp ban is removed before you can set up Authenticator.

"is there not a way to see the history on accounts for the atleast 10 years i had my account and have never been banned for anything"

My guess is this history is the reason your account was given only a temporary ban.
Most accounts get permanent bans for this offence.

I dont understand why the ban prevents me from using the forum on my main account, that is my biggest thing that makes absolutely no sense. Also the complex system they have detects bots and whatnot, can it not detect a random password change, authenticator change and logged in from a different ip, and also probably traded all my bank to some account for nothing and then ran whatever 3rd party stuff is and got me banned for 2 days. like there has to be an obvious system for these scams that just want to steal money from people then get them banned so they wont have access to their accounts for atleast a couple days

The ban disables an account from game and forum activity.
The only thing a player can do on a banned account is log into account management.

The temporary ban is a warning shot to you.
I think it is likely Jagex can see everything you mention and didn't impose a permanent ban for that reason.

Maybe you don't feel very lucky right now but, I assure you, you are.
Over 98% of offence detections result in permanent bans.

I'm lucky that i got my account scammed and temporarily banned by a game that i just paid a membership fee thinking i may get back into it, I'm the lucky one though? A warning to me that if i get scammed by people who have been scamming for years and just creating burn accounts to scam continually and perfecting their scams that i could get permanently banned. So why is forum activity banned exactly, so i can't contact mods to try and solve my issue? I understand I got myself scammed but the fact there is no help from jagex or mods is ridiculous. So basically attempt to silence the banned person and tell them they are lucky? Yup all adds up perfectly.

It is not to silence you up in any way , it is to stop your account to keep breaking the rules.

Keep in mind that even tho it was not you doing it , was there still a offence committed on your account.

If you do use 3 party clients (like OSBuddy/Runelite) could you end in trouble , if you used a APK file for playing on mobile could that also be very risky.

What rules could someone break on the forums? It seems like the only people paying for it are the people that get scammed by not being able to talk.

Also what exactly does a 3rd party client mean, i know what botting is but is that just a new way of saying that?

If someone is banned and is able to use the forums, then they can use this venue to vent their frustrations. They can break the rules by posting spam, posting malicious content (links/websites/URLs), inappropriate images, etc. The list goes on. That's why a banned account cannot post on the forums.

As for third party clients, more information can be found here: Unofficial Clients [Info].

You are talking to others players in here , not J mods.

Just follow Malua's advice , we can't speed that process up in any way.

We have no clue of your resent hijack has anything to do with that ban , in those 48 hours will 2 different J mods look into your digital record to see what is going on.

3pc : 3rd party clients (like OSBuddy/Runelite and more)

APK file for Mobile are not from the approved store Apple/Play store.
