Welcome to the FIFTH VERSION of the main thread of TGNP. We are a group of people who's goal is to help out new players. Anyone is allowed to come to our events and help out. TGNP is truly a place where you can make friends and help better the Runescape Community. "If you are willing to make a difference, give back, and have fun, this community is for you."

Welcome to TGNP. :D


Our Past:

The TGNP was founded as The Global Newb Project on Thanksgiving Day, November 2009 by Apple 1. It started out and has continued to be a new player help project. Leadership switched to Complimentos in March of 2010. Then the Trio Leader system went into place in June 2010, with Red FC, MisterSuit, and Venus Isacc as the leaders. In October of 2010, MisterSuit stepped down as a leader and RisingxDove took his place. We then began to slowly fade away during the inactive summer. Those left continued to fight to keep the group alive. After the Clan Camp update we registered as an official group. TGNP saw this a a new beginning and is now ready to go forth and give it the groups all. We continue to strive to revive the group. After still struggling, in late August 2011, the group then decided to leave the Clan System, and run out of the groups friend chat as an open community.


The Future:

As for the future, we are always looking for ideas, suggestions, or anything else that can improve the way we help the community. We believe that we will never stop growing and we will continue to help new players succeed, have fun, and become a great Community for all of Runescape.

Jagex has supported us in our endevour to help out new players. Mod Lorenzo and Mod Cocoa have supported us from almost the start by giving us their opinions on things, a few ideas, referring friends, and etc. Mod Paul M. suppoted from June, 2010. We are glad that we are benefiting others and the community. Thank you to Jagex for helping us out, and thanks for making a game where we have a chance to help out.

While no-one likes rules, they are needed to keep chaos from ensuing. Below is the list of rules for this group. Breaking them can get you anywhere from being ranked down to being banned from the Community for an extended amount of time.

-Constructive criticism is welcome.

-No posting url's.
-Do not post those giant ACII Pictures that have nothing to do with TGNP.
-Please do not just 'bump' this thread. Events moves slow enough where we do not need to bump.

Clan Chat Rules:
-If you have a problem with another clanmate, take it outside the chat.
-No giving out url's in the chats. If you wish to tell someone a link, do it through pm's.

Notices:
*References to official Runescape Fan-sites like "Tipit" or "Runehq" or "Rs Wiki" are fine if stated in that way, but stating the full url is not. Do so through pm. Referencing other official Jagex sites is fine.

The Spotter Team started about 2 months after the main project. The purpose of the team is to look out for players who are community minded and could possibly join our community. The players can be any level, as long as they are Community minded, seem like they would fit in well with the community, and are willing to take some time each month to help out new players, even if its just one small time a month.

2. Showcase either a 1,500 character story or poem written by one of our members or for TGNP by a non-group member.

Here at TGNP, we like players who make an extra special effort in our community. This is the place to recognize those players and their efforts. Every month we will choose a member most deserving of this spot since they have helped our community. Each member that is chosen, shows the fact that they want to help improve our community in a good way.

Here is what a Helper of the Month shows to our Management Team:

Here at TGNP, we are more Community based than clan based. This means that most major decisions are made by the entire group, not just the leaders. The leaders are here to make sure everything runs smoothly and to keep things up and running. With the update of the new clan system, we continue to have only 3 leaders. These leaders will continue to make sure this group stays alive and become something to be proud of.

Here is how our ranking system works:

When you first join the community, you'll be given a rank of recruit (1 stripe ranking).
During the time that your a recruit rank, you'll learn how our community is run. How our cc and events are run. And generally what to expect as a member of TGNP.

When we've seen that you've learned how our community is run, been active in the cc, and have attended a few events, you'll be given a rank up.

Your next rank will be corporal (two stripes). At this rank, you'll be known as a normal member. You know how the community is run, and you've gotten acquainted with all of us. Your expected to be active in the cc and attend events. The majority of the community is this rank.

If we see that, you’re an exceptional member. One that is very active, on the cc, forums, and events. We may consider ranking you up. Basically, to get a rank up, you'll have to stand out among the other members. You'll have to be active on the cc. Post every once in a while and add to the forums. And be active within events. Attending many events or volunteering.

If you are chosen to be ranked up, then your new rank shall be a Sergeant (three stripes). At this rank, you'll be known as an exceptional member. One that is active ingame and on forums. Only a couple members are this rank (atm).

The rest of the ranks, are fairly difficult to acquire, and so I’ll stop here. Though it is still possible to acquire those ranks.

Our Ranking system is very simple and easy to understand. In reality, only the ranks of 1-3 stripes exist. Stars are just people who have a special job within the Community itself. The biggest thing taught in TGNP about ranks is: Ranks do not matter. We are all equal, and all want this Community to be great. Below is what each rank is and a small description of it. Silver Stars and higher have the ability to kick from the chat.


1 Stripe - New Member - Welcome to the group! Once you get to know how things run and we feel you are ready, you will be promoted to the next rank.

2 Stripes - Normal Member - Most of the Community is this rank. Members who show extreme dedication and amazing skills will be given another rank up.

3 Stripes - Extremely Dedicated/Amazing Member - Congratulations! You have been recognized as an outstanding member who is extremely dedicated. This is a difficult rank to achieve, and those with it have given much to the Community.

Bronze Star - Helper of the Month - At the end of every month, we will select the player who most stood out during that month. They will be recognized as the Helper of the Month, and will have this rank until we chose the next Helper at the end of the following month.

Silver Star - N/A

Gold Star - Leaders of TGNP. These included the Group Owner, Forum Management Leader, and Spotter Team Leader. There will only be 3 leaders at any time.

Gold Key - Owner - Newb Drive, our Friend chat account.

Some of these events have been with us from the beginning, others more recent, and still others that we think up all the time. The simple classic that was the foundation of the group. The Classic Donation is an event where we all meet up and then go out into the F2P world and donate items to the new players we find. Feel free to offer them advice or anything else helpful while at this event.

The Skill Camp is an event where each person will teach new players a F2P Skill.

*If you would like to teach a skill at the next skill camp, please post so, with the correct template found below.

Here is how our Skill Camp works.
1) You are to sign up to teach a skill.
2) Then, you will write a guide( see **) You must write the guide, or you will not teach.
3) On the day of the Skill camp, we will meet ay Lumbridge Church.
4) We will do a quick run through of the order of who goes first, second, ect.
5) We round up some new players to teach
6) We teach them the F2P skills

You may use any of the items or money in our treasury for supplies.

Events United is the ultimate eventing group for one reason, it is made up of all a lot of the eventing groups! Events United is the collaboration of the eventing community to hold giant events that all the groups plan and host together. The events done through Events United always turn out well and are always fun!! **NP is apart of Events United and will continue to be apart of it as long as we exist.

You can find a full list of the groups in Events United on the first page of their thread. We affiliate with all of the Eventing Community groups, however the two below are ones that we have a close connection with.

It has been a little over 1 year since you stepped down and let me, blood, fire (now rain) take over. After this 1 year all i have to say is...
Thanks for making this group. :)
I have no idea what my Rs life or anyone who is/was in TGNP's Rs life would be like without TGNP. This group i think has truly made an impact. And i promise to do my best to keep this group alive!
Even though TGNP and you have had some conflicts in the past year, I hope we can finally let those go and work together to re-build this community. :)
P.S. Do not forget to thank Rainstar. She played a big part in keeping this group alive.

Attention P2P TGNP Members!
On Tuesday at 5:30 PM EST (EST = Clan Time), we will open our citadel. Please meet on world 100 at the Makeover Mage's house. We will then walk to the portal and open it. (We are meeting not at the portal since it will probably be a lagfest there anyways...) If you finished Cryptic Clue Fest 3, wear the Avalani Robes and anything else. If you didn't finish the clue fest, wear whatever. ;)
Hope we can get 5 of us online to open it then. :)

sorry about missing that Oblivian. Crazy weekend.

Well since no one showed at the meeting, but i know everyone agreed to it, TGNP will now be running out of our FC: Newb Drive. The cc: TGNP will remain open until all members have been notified. Our FC acc will remain in the CC as its only member, in case we ever decided to use the CC again in the Future.
We are not giving up, we are simply running things in a new way that we hope will be a good thing for TGNP!

Important Announcement: I kept forgetting to post this for one month, as other things kept making me forget or not have time to do this. Sorry for this being so late.
TGNP is announcing that it is officially closing. :( Both Blood and I came to this decision. We had so much inactivity from everyone, that it was as if we were already done with TGNP. Our FC: Newb Drive will be temporarily closed for now.
I would like to thanks everyone who was apart of TGNP or supported us. We couldn't have done what we did do without you. What will happen from here on out has yet to be decided, but i will be updating the thread with more details soon.
Once again, thank you everyone, and hopefully what we did accomplish won't be forgotten. :)

Hey evan, i haven't seen you in forever. :(
But yes, anyone who was once part of TGNP for a good while may re-start it up at anytime they wish. They just need to simply let any of the rest of us know in case we want to help them in any way, and me so i can give them all the thread stuff, as i will soon be removing parts of it to my computer for safekeeping, organizational things, and to re-format parts of it.
I *might* be able to start a few things up with TGNP close to Summer, but i'm not entirely sure yet.

I believe our home world was 102, the F2P Party Room World. (And that world is no longer there) so we'd meed a new homeworl.
All of the old GNP Clan Data from when we used the official clan system (cape, vex, citadel) is all still on our fc acc "Newb Drive". So if we do get up and going again, we have the all the old data.
Edit: I'll have to check the depths of my computer, but i think i might have lost the spotter team thread posts, as our recruitment thread went past page 50. >.>

Yeah, perhaps someday we can get that final reunion to happen. Also, about a month ago (if you look at when I last edited the first post) I did archive/save the entire main portion of the thread onto my computer, just so I always have a backup in case the thread dies and for some reason we need it again in the future.

But yeah, if you ever see me online feel free to message me, and I'll be sure to message you if I see you!
