Nearly eleven months ago, the male's Armadyl Chestplate was drastically ruined after a glitch was discovered in the female's plate. Mod Osborne's Patch Notes Archive (QFC: 13-14-604-58266335) on Page 3 says, "Fixed an appearance issue with the male and female Armadyl chestplate." On July 8th 2009, both ACP's became botches at the release of Mobilising Armies. Furthermore, Mod Emilee stated that the ACP change was a mistake, and it was going to be changed back. We've waited for about 11 months as we watched each update fail to fulfill Mod Emilee's promise. Colorful Abyssal Whips and Dark Bows were made, yet no attempt was made to ratify the old ACP until May 25th's Skillcape and Emote Animations. Jagex reverted the female's ACP back to its Pre-MA counterpart; however, the male's remained in its current state. Jagex has half-stepped after it took almost a year to provide a true fix. Both ACP's were changed, so both should've been reverted, not only one!
Before the ACP's horrible repulsiveness in MA, the male's ACP was good-looking and flawless just two months away from its 2-year anniversary. After mindless and stupid rants cluttered forums of the "feminine" ACP, Jagex decided to add a girdle belt to it and slap some grey paint around the whole midriff area to pacify the insecure crybabies who wanted it to become pixilated manhood rather than a good-looking plate that served its purpose. Since the Dragon Platebody was slightly modified due to a large volume of insane posts, items like the ACP and Dragon Scimitar took on the appearances of plastic toys.
First of all, the ACP originates from the aviantese, and it is bird-like armor! Humankind in its newbie form messed up the ACP that is proudly worn by the aviansies in the God Wars Dungeon. It resembles their culture and was mainly created for them, and a human who found the armor would have to wear it in a similar fashion, or don't wear it at all. They don't look girly or fruity; they're birds!

Male birds are generally more flamboyant and beautiful than females, especially peacocks. Therefore, the ACP’s cool, unique, crop-top style embodies those characteristics perfectly. Also, it didn't follow that ridiculous trend that involves no male half shirts and plenty of female belly shirts. Besides, crop tops were a popular men’s fad in the 1980’s, so the male ACP should be reverted and left alone.

- TLDR VERSION -

- The old ACP was better, in my opinion!
- False manhood and idiotic rants led to its terrible change.
- It was supposed to be fully changed back.
- There was no legit reason including the crybabies and appearance issue that should’ve prompted its change.
- It belongs to the birds, and the males are more elaborate, so the old appeal was very formal.
- Bulky, full-clad plates are made for warriors, not archers!
- Lastly, the image incorrectly matches what is donned.
- Crop-top ACP (8/28/07-7/8/09) > Robo-Cop ACP (3/6/12-present) > Man-blouse ACP (7/8/09-3/6/12)
_____________________________________________________________________

As of March 6th 2012, Armadyl has gone from a wannabe man's blouse to Robo Cop, which I feel is a step up for the ACP since its post-MA ugliness, but still nothing compares or amounts to crop-top Armadyl from HD to MA. Additionally, Old ACP, Armadyl or any relative name refers to said item's pre-MA appearance, not that turd ball of a pixel cover that sheltered an insecure kid's pixelated manhood! Crop-top ACP is the rightful and old look overall.

For your information, Armadyl has been dead for those of you who dislike Robo-Cop Armadyl and think this marked the official demise of the armor. Actually, it really expired since MA on July 8th 2009. This overhaul was just a mere attempt to breathe some life into it.

As of February 22nd 2013 in OSRS, the 2007 version of the Armadylean armor exists. That's exactly how the armor should look.

I just had an epiphany! During the time frame that pursued the Dragon Platebody's appearance change, Jagex has adopted a heinous trend that all armor should be covered up like the male Armadyl Chestplate, which was formerly cropped. Although Jagex has taken a Puritan-style approach on armors, nothing was done to female Bandos, so nothing definitely should've been done to the male version of Armadyl. Additionally, all high-tier armor must be degradable, and the repairs are costly in the weary eyes of Jagex. :@
In addition to colorful items, ornament kits, goggle toggles, there are corrupt variations of Dragon and PVP armors. So, do you really mean to tell me that a toggle option or a cropped counterpart for the ACP isn't feasible and wouldn't solve this whole problem? Don't tell me it would nearly double all of the items in the game, and don't tell me this isn't a solution either. :|

The ACP is metallic, and the last thing an expert archer needs is a bulky plate draping over him to impair his ranged attacks and abilities. Again, the cropped plate was ideal since it complemented the archer's stealth and agility. The only thing a full plate does is provide defense, which most range armor lacks, yet defense isn't really needed.
The Aviantese kept their rightful crop-top plates, so should we. An Aviansie wouldn't fare well or survive in a huge chuck of metal. The same goes for a ranger!
