Eclipse of the Heart Launches Today - This Week In RuneScape

Eclipse of the Heart marks the long-awaited finale of one of RuneScape’s oldest and most beloved storylines, a saga spanning 24 years. What began as a simple mission to rescue Prince Ali has grown into a sprawling journey through time, unearthing forgotten gods, exposing ancient betrayals, and shaping the very fate of Gielinor itself. Along the way, you have forged alliances, faced unimaginable dangers, and uncovered truths buried beneath the shifting sands.

Now, as the ominous eclipse casts its shadow over the city of Menaphos, the desert’s timeless sands stir with anticipation. Ascend the steps to the Golden Palace and meet with Pharaoh Leela to begin planning how to thwart Amascut!

Our next MTX Experiment on the path to permanent change for the game is on the way.

Between July 28th and September 30th 2025, Cosmetic-Free Worlds will be available for players to access. On these Worlds the following cosmetic visuals will not be visible:

• Wardrobe overrides
• Walk overrides
• Rest overrides
• Tool overrides
• Skilling icons (overhead)
• Teleport animations
• Hitsplats
• Overhead emotes
• Pets (including legendary)
• Ability overrides (combat + spells: e.g. High Alch, Death animations)

Cosmetic-Free Worlds will be marked in the World Selection screen under the 'Activity' section. Cosmetic-Free Worlds will be at the top of the Worlds list when world hopping and in the Lobby.

When you launch the game for the first time after we release Cosmetic-Free Worlds, you'll get a popup with details on the Experiment and what to expect.

After that, any time you log into a Cosmetic-Free World, you'll see a message box letting you know you're in a Cosmetic-Free World.

Hotfixed

• Resolved an issue that causes text in one of the windows related to the Treasure Hunter Off week to not translate properly on localized worlds.
• Fixed an issue that prevented some players from logging in during the experiment.
• Fixed an issue that prevented players from opening the Loot Pinatas.

• Lumbridge crater has returned to normal after end of the Beach 2025 event
