Housing of Parliament & Double XP- This Week In RuneScape

The City of Um calls to you once more, adventurer! A new quest will see you tidying up a quiet corner of town, and if you’re successful, receiving a new type of Gemstone. While you’re in the area, you might also notice the handy tweak we’ve made to glyphs, or nab yourself a prestigious pet upgrade. And if that’s not enough, a legendary character is rumoured to be dropping by with wares for sale – and some fantastical tales of old…

Whether you’re working on your woodcutting skills, flexing your fletching or catching up on your cooking, DXP will help you achieve your goals.

DXP LIVE is a 10-day event where you have 48 Hours of Double XP to use at your leisure. You can pause the timer if you need to do other activities but don't want to lose out on that precious DXP time.

You can also once again make use of DXP Tokens! You can get them from DXP Spirits, which spawn intermittently while you’re skilling* or using Proteans and Dummies. Also, if you have any unwanted Proteans, no worries – you can convert up to 10,000 of them daily to use them on something more valuable to you!

DXP Tokens can be exchanged during any DXP LIVE for stars, skilling outfit pieces, elite skilling outfit pieces etc. There has been some rebalancing on the cost of some items as these systems are being developed. The DXP Token Store will be available during Double XP: LIVE events, and any tokens earned persist into future events.

*Note: Spirits will automatically claim DXP when they expire, so if you're going into DXP LIVE AFK style, you won't be missing out on earning Tokens!

DXP LIVE returns Friday, February 16th until Monday, February 26th, starting and ending at 12:00 PM Game Time. Learn more about how it works here!

Double XP Daily Reward Bonus

Hop into Treasure Hunter during DXP Live to benefit from the new daily reward track! Each day there will be a bonus award available, which you can unlock by using the amount of keys shown in the meter. These bonus rewards will be available until midnight (00:00 GMT) each day and your progress will reset when the next reward becomes available. This will happen either automatically at midnight or, if you're already logged in, the next time you refresh (by lobbying/changing worlds etc). The Daily Reward Bonus will be available throughout the duration of DXP Live.

Necromancy

• Added the Housing of Parliament quest.
• The quest can be found under the City of Um series within the quest interface.
• Added a new ghost appearance for the Miso pet, available after defeating Rasial 1,000 times.
• Appearance will be unlocked on login if you already have the met the kill requirement.
• Thalmund, the travelling merchant, will now visit the City of Um – just outside the smithy on a Wednesday.
• Be sure to speak to them each week for some travellers' tales!
• Thalmund's stock includes a handful of Ensouled items
• Updated the effects of the Protection glyphs from the City of Um ritual site:
• Protection I - Increases duration of ritual disturbances by 20%, increases Soul attraction by 20%.
• Protection II - Increases duration of ritual disturbances by 40%, increases Soul attraction by 40%.
• Protection III - Increases duration of ritual disturbances by 60%, increases Soul attraction by 60%.
• Added Moonstone Gems that are found during rituals and are used to craft new Moonstone Jewelry.
• Cutting an Onyx now gives 180xp (up from 167.5xp) - this is now consistent with the XP and requirements of other gems.
• Rebalanced several low level monsters that were harder to kill than intended, for example:
• Turoths have been changed to melee monsters
• HP 9850 -> 4200
• Maxhit 1140 -> 960
• Updated Ed's Boat Tours within the City of Um:
• There were instances where Rasial's Citadel could be clipped out of sight. This has been fixed.
• Changed some of the coordinates during the tour to avoid clipping and unnecessary travel.
• If you've already completed a tour once, doing another tour will now present you with three questions you can ask Ed at the end.

Valentines

• Devotion Sprites found their way back to the Gielinor.
• Added a Lovely gift Box to the NPC Rosie for the current event

General

• The Benefits Tab now appears correctly on the Marketplace interface.
• The Necromancy Boost you get from the Deathmatch Supreme Overload Salve will now be removed when leaving the area of the minigame.
• The Dominion Medallion boost for Necromancy will now be removed instantly whenever it's unequipped.
• Using the Captain's Log with a fixed camera on the ritual site will no longer break the fixed camera.
• Hazeel's dialogue now uses the correct chathead.
• Fixed a typo in the examined text of the bookcases in the City of Um.
• The scaling option now scales only interfaces for new players if the scaling options were changed before starting a new character.
• The Revenant Drop Enhancer will be directly added to the currency pouch when bought from the Deathmatch Reward Shop.
• Players can no longer teleport into Menaphos from tablets without completing the Jack of Spades quest.
• Equipping the Ghul Invoker Gloves will no longer equip Ghul Invoker Boots.
• Fixed an issue that caused the Soul Reaver skeleton override to appear without wielding a sword.
• The lighting outside of Falador is now appropriate for the area.
