Hey 'Scapers!
It's another milestone week in the Road to Restoration for RuneScape: today we overhaul the Aura's system!
If you're unfamiliar with the Road to Restoration: it's a secondary roadmap that underlies our 2026 content roadmap. The Road to Restoration is a long-term project aimed at addressing fundamental or systematic problems that have led RuneScape away from its core principles. As part of this roadmap, we already overhauled much of the DailyScape design and early game balancing, and we are continuing to make important changes that you can look forward to, including improvements to the Grand Exchange and a relaunch of the Player Avatar.
The Aura system dates back to a previous era of RuneScape and is no longer compatible with our integrity based direction... however, we have made sure to retain as many of the beneficial features of this system!
We previously shared a couple blogs on our initial thoughts around Auras and later also around our more firmer design direction. Thanks to your input, we're confident that we've found ways to address your concerns while still being able to tackle the worst aura offenders!
For more insight into the why of the Aura Overhaul, do check out the two blogs linked above, but here are our overarching goals for the Road to Restoration that have guided us with this update:
- A game that's easy to understand, but still full of meaningful choice and depth.
- Play because it's fun, and not because you feel like you have to.
- A meaningful journey, no matter when you start.
The benefits of today's changes include:
- Removing the need to play certain content in certain windows of time during which their aura could be active
- Removing the player-to-player imbalance created by multiple aura tiers that were previously time-gated by membership tenure.
- Removing the need to accumulate aura powers over many years, using a system that layered on-top of RuneScape's normal gameplay features and had very little connection to them.
Let's take a look at what's changing!
What Auras are Changed
Greenfingers

The Greenfingers aura previously increased your chance to obtain additional produce when harvesting from your farming patches. This benefit is now something that can be unlocked in the core of the Farming skill by purchasing it from "Sydekix's Shop of Balance" for 30k Crux Eqal Favour.
Purchasing it will give you a passive 7% chance to increase your herb, allotment, hops, mushroom and nightshade crop yields without the need to juggle activating the aura during your farm runs! This means that you won't need to rush your runs as much now, especially as there have been more farming patches added with the Havenhythe area expansion.
If you had previously owned the Master Greenfingers (Tier 3) Aura or a higher one, this new benefit will be automatically unlocked for you!
In addition to this, the "Quick-cense" & "Makes-cense" benefits from Sydekix's Shop of Balance have had their unlock costs reduced to 30k Crux Eqal Favour from 35k. If you already owned these you will be refunded the difference on your first login.
Focused siphoning

This aura used to boost your chance of successfully siphoning in the Runespan while it was active.
Now, you can grab that same benefit from Wizard Rinsit’s Runecrafting Shop for 20,000 points and it’s permanent! Once unlocked, you’ll get a passive 7.5% boost across the board to your siphoning success.
Plus, with the recent DailyScape overhaul doubling the points you earn from siphoning across the Runespan, you’ll be racking up points much more consistently.
If you had previously owned Master Focused Siphoning (Tier 3) Aura or a higher one, this will be automatically unlocked for you!
Five finger discount

This aura was used to boost your chance of successfully pickpocketing. Now, that bonus can be learnt from the upstanding citizens in the Thieves’ Guild using pilfer points and once you’ve got it, it’s permanent! There are five ranks in total, each costing 1,000 points and giving a stacking 2% boost to your thieving success. Additionally Pilfer points are now also obtainable via Heists. Any loot gathered during the Heist will gain you pilfer points, with the exception for the final chest loot so do take a moment to loot as much as you can!
If you previously owned the Five-Finger Discount aura at any tier, you’ll automatically unlock the equivalent level of this bonus. So Tier 1 gives 2%, Tier 2 gives 4%, and so on.
Enrichment

Enrichment used to boost your chances of getting an enriched memory while harvesting memories. That effect has now been folded into Divination’s skill progression, so there is no need to activate or keep track of it anymore. As you level up Divination, you will naturally unlock better chances of gathering enriched memories. These bonuses are not additive and your highest bonus will always apply:
- Level 39 Divination - 2% increased chance to obtain an enriched memory.
- Level 59 Divination - 4% increased chance to obtain an enriched memory.
- Level 79 Divination - 7% increased chance to obtain an enriched memory.
- Level 99 Divination - 10% increased chance to obtain an enriched memory.
Tracker
This aura previously boosted your capture rates while trapping creatures using the Hunter skill. Aligning with changes already made as part of our Early Game Rebalance, we have gone ahead and boosted the rates of trapping and tracking methods for various animals including:
- Barb-Tailed / Prickly / Spotted / Diseased / Sabre toothed / Dark / Dashing / Polar Kebbits
- Viridian / Azure / Crimson / Crystal Skillchompa
- Orange / Red / Black / Yellow Salamanders
- Platypus
- Penguin
- Pawya
- Common / Shadow / Igneous / Cannibal / Aquatic / Amphibious / Carrion / Draconic / Camo / God Jadinko
- Magic Imp boxes
- Plover Birds
- Grenwall
- Arc Tortle / Ornate Arc Tortle
These changes cover a Hunter skill level range from 33 to 97, which will provide you with a boost all throughout those levels and smooth out your hunting.
Call of the Sea

This auras benefit of improved catch chances has been distributed across different fishing tools and items to bolster your Fishing setups!
- These fishing familiars will now offer catch rate boosts:
- Granite Crab: +1%
- Ibis: +2%
- Granite Lobster: +3%
- Various Fishing tools now offer improved catch chance:
- Rod-o-Matic: 0% → 3%
- Enhanced Rod-o-Matic: 0% → 4%
- Dragon Harpoon: 6% → 9%
- Crystal Rod: 5% → 8%
- Tavia's Rod: 10% → 14%
- Additionally the Perfect Juju fishing potion and Perfect plus potion now offer a 10% catch boost (up from 5%)
Lumberjack

Lumberjack's aura's effects of increasing chopping chances has been folded directly into your hatchets! Different hatchet tiers will improve your chance of chopping wood:
- Mithril to Rune: +5%
- Orikalkum to Bane: +10%
- Imcando & higher: +15%
This is further improved by your Woodcutting skill level, meaning that "over-leveling" trees will feel more powerful! An example of this would be chopping a yew tree with a Necronium hatchet (both level 70). At level 70, you are now 5% more likely to chop wood, increasing to 7% at level 120.
Quarrymaster

The critical chance from this aura has now been built into the Mining skill directly, offering an initial +5% crit chance at level 59 and another 5% at level 85. Mine to your hearts content!
Resourceful

This aura previously offered the chance to either not deplete a woodcutting or excavation resource, increased geode chances while mining and provided a chance to mine additional red/crystal-flecked sandstone which would not contribute towards that daily sandstone limit.
Since sandstones were updated to no longer have a daily cap as part of our DailyScape Overhaul update that associated effect was no longer required. The other effect of improving consistency in Material caches is still something we did not want to lose when this aura would be removed. You now cannot "expire" a Material cache on the first two gathers from it, which should improve the consistency of gathering from Material caches in general!
Daemonheim aura

You will no longer need to have this Aura equipped - all of its activated effects are now passively applied! Those included are:
- Easy+:
- One consequence-free death per day in a dungeon (does not work in hard mode floors)
- Medium+:
- Ammo is returned (like Ava's accumulator) within Daemonheim
- Bones are automatically buried (like a bonecrusher) within Daemonheim
- Hard+:
- Unlocks a Combat Cosmetic Override of "Thok headbutt" for the backhand skill.
- Elite+:
- Access to the second gatestone, via the Create Gatestone 2 and Gatestone Teleport 2 spells
- Bones buried in Daemonheim restore 20 prayer points (40 for dragon/frost dragon bones).
Vampyrism & Penance
These auras were designed around converting damage into useful resources like health or prayer points. To preserve these effects, they’ve now been moved into the Aspect system.
Aspects are combat buffs such as Darkness, Animate Dead or Temporal Anomaly. Players can activate these via spellbooks, with only one Aspect being able to be active at any given time.
- "Vampyrism" is now available in the Ancient Magicks Spellbook. It requires a Magic level of 69 and costs 15 blood, 10 death, 6 soul & 40 fire runes to cast. It lasts for 12 minutes (like other Aspects) and heals you for 5% of the damage dealt up to a cap of 50 life points per hit.
- "Penance" is now available in the Standard Spellbook. It requires a Magic level of 67 and costs 3 law, 30 body, 10 soul, & 20 chaos runes to cast. It lasts for 12 minutes (like other Aspects) and restores prayer points equal to 5% of the damage received up to a cap of 100 prayer points.
These new Aspects will allow you to use these effects much more often and juggle between them if you bring along the runes!
Might of Het (Previous Desert Pantheon Effect)
The Desert Pantheon aura previously granted a number of buffs, including the "Might of Het", which increased your maximum life points while active.
The Might of Het boost has been added to the "Totem of Vitality" which has replaced the "Totem of Auras". This buff will continue to boost your maximum life points by 25% (to a maximum of 1,500 extra) in the same way it previously functioned.
It should now be much easier to maintain this effect as you now will not need to worry about daily charges.
We have additionally updated the Anachronia Totem system! Gone are the days of charging the totems and the weekly lockout has also been removed! Swap them around to your heart's content. The Remototem will now allow you to change totems remotely from basecamp. These changes should make it much easier to have this boost up whenever you want to dive into PvMing.
Poison Purge
There are already a variety of ways to become immune to poison, so this aura was in a bit of an odd place. However, we wanted to take this opportunity to update the anti-poison totem, it now has 100% poison immunity and is held in the pocket slot only.
Harmony, Corruption & Salvation

The primary function of this trio of auras was to restore Prayer points after accumulating a certain amount of Prayer XP. This synergized especially well with the Sunspear’s ability to cremate Vyrewatch enemies for Prayer experience, making this their most common use case. To preserve this synergy, the effect has now been integrated directly into the Sunspear. It will be unlocked by cremating Vyres in the Columbarium.
- 50 cremations - 1% prayer restore on Vyre kill
- 100 cremations - 2% prayer restore on Vyre kill
- 150 cremations - 3% prayer restore on Vyre kill
- 200 cremations - 4% prayer restore on Vyre kill
- 250 cremations - 5% prayer restore on Vyre kill
Additionally, the cosmetic wings effects are also unlocked via cremations, with all three types unlocked on a per tier basis at the following thresholds:
- 300 cremations - T1 wings
- 350 cremations - T2 wings
- 400 cremations - T3 wings
- 500 cremations - T4 wings
You can now also right click the Vyre weaponry to check your kills and see which bonuses are currently granted! If you have already completed these cremation goals you will have the benefits right away!

Aura Refunds
As outlined in our recent Premier Membership update, the Loyalty Store will be closing and Loyalty Points will no longer have an in-game function. Because of this, we won’t be offering Loyalty Point refunds for previously purchased auras. The only other thing that Loyalty Points could have been used for (cosmetic content) will be relocated into the Free Monthly Marketplace Drop cycles when the Store closes. There are quite a lot of items so we are investigating other opportunities to reintroduce them via other methods in the future.
One important distinction we can make relates to players who purchased an aura using bonds, as there is a direct and single correlation between the bond and the aura. Any players who spent bonds to acquire an aura after 1st December 2025 have had those bonds automatically returned to their accounts.
Additionally, any players who purchased the Mahjarrat Aura using Reaper points since 3rd December 2025 will have those points returned to them, though the timing on this still needs to be finalized.
As an important reminder today's aura overhaul doesn't just remove aura effects outright. You're still able to continue using many of their effects due to our efforts to rework the system. Some have been reworked or integrated into other parts of the game, while others have been retired as part of broader improvements. Given the varied changes to different auras, there isn’t a fair or consistent way to apply refunds across all situations.
The Aura Slot
The Aura slot has been removed from the Worn Equipment UI. The Aura slot continues to exist in the Wardrobe UI where it has been renamed to "Visual Effects". This allows you to change cosmetics appearances such as Gazes and cosmetic auras (such as the Devourer Aura).
Aura refreshes
Aura refreshes no longer have a purpose and so they have been removed in general. Additionally they have been removed from both the War's Wares store and the Super Rare Drop table. They have been replaced on the drop table with 5-8 Starbloom seeds.
In-game loyalty stores
The loyalty stores at Varrock / Burthorpe / Menaphos and Priffidinas have been cleared up, claiming back another piece of the overworld. These stores offered a limited recolouring service for some items, this function has been moved into a rightclick recolour for the outfits while the other items can be used on Diango to recolour, additional the outfits can be reclaimed from Diango.
That covers today's changes. Head on over to the official threads on Discord and Reddit and let us know how you're getting on with the new systems!
