Upcoming Surveys

Upcoming Surveys

We’re always keen to hear your thoughts on shaping the game you love. We’ve been really putting an emphasis on increasing your influence over the content of the game this year, and we can’t wait to take things even further in future.

We’d like to extend that approach to other areas of the game as well as the wider studio. We’ll be exploring different aspects of your in-game experience to help us understand the ways we support you as players. Your insights will help shape the future of RuneScape, ensuring it stays a place you’re proud to call home.

Upcoming Surveys

We’re starting off with a targeted survey, which will be sent to selected players in the coming days. This first survey will focus on improving specific game and/or service-related features and uncovering ways we can make your experience even better.

Later this month, we’ll launch a second survey with a focus on improving Player Support services. This one will be open to everyone and will dive into various aspects of support we provide – now and potential future improvements. We know you have a lot of questions and suggestions, and this isn’t the first time we’ve discussed enhancing player support. To give this topic the attention it deserves, we’ll be releasing a dedicated blog post soon with further details—so keep an eye out for it.

Our Annual Survey

Early next year, we’ll launch our RuneScape 2025 Player Survey!

Just like our 2024 Player Survey, this will be a key moment to make your voice heard and shape the future of RuneScape. Your responses in our 2024 Player Survey led to significant changes – such as our return to the Desert Quest series – and shaped our Roadmap for 2025.

We can’t wait to see where your feedback may take us for mid-2025 and beyond.

MTX Community Consultation

In August, we announced our intention to run a Community Consultation on MTX.

Since then, we’ve run several private Community Consultation initiatives to deepen our understanding of our player attitudes, usage and value of MTX.

As part of the continued consultation, please keep an eye out for invitations to Expert Panels related to the program if you received our last survey and opted in to being contacted.

We’ll also be launching early registration to a dedicated MTX Player Consultancy Discord Server – separate from the RuneScape Discord. Thank you for your support.

Staying Safe Online

We’re giving you a heads-up now so that you know what to expect and can recognise legitimate communications from us. If you receive an email survey from us, be sure it’s authentic to avoid phishing attempts.

  1. Check the subject line and/or email body for your RSN. If your accounts are secure, it’s quite hard for scammers to know both your email and RSN. We know both and will use both.
  2. Look for grammar and spelling errors. Whilst some mistakes can be human error, an email with consistently bad grammar and spelling errors throughout is a common giveaway for a phishing email.
  3. Scammers often use header spoofing to make emails appear as if they’re coming from our runescape.com domain. To check authenticity, you can view the email header, which contains key technical details about the sender’s origin. The way to do this differs for each email client (we recommend Googling how to do it for your client), but most clients let you access this by clicking “more info” or a similar option in the email menu where you’ll find the header information. Check for mismatching reply fields, suspicious rerouted received fields, failed authentications and any other data that looks like it doesn’t come from RuneScape/Jagex to identify potential phishing attempts.
  4. Double check links before you click on them to make sure the destination seems safe. On a computer, hover your mouse over the link and the destination address will appear in a small bar at the bottom of the browser. On a mobile, hold down the link, and a pop-up will appear containing the link. If you click a link and you’re asked to enter your password and you’re not sure if the email is safe, do not enter your information. Navigate to the website yourself and log in via your standard method instead. We will NEVER ask for your password when completing a survey sent by us.
  5. Finally, if you’re not sure, ask!

Please note that phishing is highly complex and these methods are purely safeguards and best practices and not foolproof. Please always use due diligence and caution, and always handle your login and personal data with care. Thanks for helping us make RuneScape better for everyone! We look forward to hearing your thoughts.
