Upcoming Treasure Hunter Changes - January 12th

As January 19th and the removal of Treasure Hunter is fast approaching we will lay some foundational steps next week to help facilitate the transition. If you are unfamiliar with our future plans to remove Treasure Hunter check out our previous announcement and FAQ for additional information.

Today, we’d like to share a brief update on some changes arriving on January 12th. Since the project began, we’ve received many questions about how this transition would work, including when certain items would cease to be usable and whether replacement systems would be introduced.

Our primary goal with the removal of Treasure Hunter has been exactly that: to remove the system entirely, and we’ve moved forward with this objective as our guiding principle.

We recognise that these decisions won’t provide a perfect solution for every style of player. However, we remain fully committed to removing Treasure Hunter and chose not to dilute that effort by investing additional development time into making temporary or incremental removal mechanics.

Treasure Hunter keys removed from sale January 12th

Treasure Hunter keys will no longer be available for purchase from the Jagex Store, mobile, Steam etc. This will include no longer being able to redeem bonds for keys and voucher redemption packages containing keys will be removed.

This process will be ongoing throughout the day with different services removing the sales at different points throughout the day. Bundles on Steam such as the Teatime bundles that contain items other then keys will be available until the 19th of January before also being removed.

Treasure Hunter Keys no longer earnable in-game or granted as a daily challenge rewards

With the game update on Monday the 12th you will no longer be able to earn keys via in-game methods such as from quests, dropped sources or the daily challenge system.

As mentioned in the previous FAQ we have no plans to directly replace these rewards. Our Integrity Roadmap will be how we replace these items by fixing the root issues that make them so valued like improvements to skills and skilling balance.

Changes to Premier Membership

The additional daily key provided by Premier will no longer be rewarded from the 12th.

Additional changes such as the removal of the Premier Artefact & Premier Vault will occur on the 19th alongside an update to the monthly awards to no longer include Treasure Hunter items such as Proteans. We will release more information relating to longer term changes to Premier Membership in the coming weeks.

Premier membership remaining keys

As mentioned back in November, Premier Members with an active tenure beyond January 12th - and who had purchased Premier before November 12th - will be awarded Bonus Keys from Premier (excluding Daily Keys earned at login) for each day of their remaining Premier Membership tenure up to a cap of 365 Keys.

All Keys will need to be used by 19th January 2026, before the full removal of Treasure Hunter.

Available Treasure Hunter Promotions during the week of January 12th

Treasure Hunter will remain available during the week of January 12th, running a standard promotion focused on Smouldering Lamps and Stars. This promotion will remain unchanged throughout the week and will not include any cosmetic rewards.

Offerwall removed from both Treasure Hunter & Solomon General Store

We will be removing Offerwall alongside the end of key sales on January 12th.

Oddment store stock will be changed to offer all current cosmetics that are on rotation & an oddments to gold option will be added for both irons and non irons

On January 12th, we will be updating the available items in the Oddments Store. Oddments will be removed entirely on January 19th, with any Oddments unspent on this day being converted to gold, at a rate of 1 Oddment to 1 gold, this automatic conversion is only for Non Ironman players.

  • All cosmetic items in rotation will be available all at once, no new additional cosmetic items will be added
  • Consumable items will be removed from sale.
  • An Oddments → Gold conversion option will be added that is available for both Ironman and non Ironman players.
    • Using this option in the store will convert 1 oddment to 250 coins for non Ironman players or 100 coins for Ironman players.

What about the Marketplace?

The Marketplace will remain unchanged until the game update on January 19th.

At that point, it will transition to an updated Marketplace with a revised pricing structure and featuring a curated mix of items from the previous Marketplace and Solomon’s Store, alongside new offerings inspired by the recent cosmetic mega drop experiment, as well as the Bonus XP Star bundles outlined in the FAQ.

What's Ahead

January 19th marks the start of a new era with a special RuneScape Ahead. As the game goes offline to remove Treasure Hunter and roll out MTX changes, we’ll drop a YouTube premiere packed with a year of upcoming content and our Integrity Roadmap.

When the game comes back online, you’ll be stepping into a RuneScape that’s entered a bold new chapter.
