RuneFest 2024: More Tickets Available May 15th!

RuneFest 2024: More Tickets Available May 15th!

IMPORTANT PSA: May 23rd

We recently contacted RuneFest ticket holders by email, and in the interest of transparency, this is what was said:

In order to bring back RuneFest in 2024 we engaged Player1 Events, an experienced event supplier specialising in gaming events. Player1 Events' flagship event is the Insomnia Gaming Festival, one of the UK's most loved gaming events for the past 25 years, and their expertise was central in our decision to bring them onboard as the core delivery partner for RuneFest.

You may have seen the recent news reports regarding layoffs at Player1 Events and be concerned how this will affect our plans for RuneFest. We were saddened to learn that some of the team we were working with to deliver RuneFest are no longer with the company.

We share your concerns about the ongoing uncertainty, and we know that many of you will have already organised your travel and hotel plans. Whilst we cannot give a definitive answer today, please be assured we are working to explore every opportunity possible, and we will update you as soon as we have more news to share.

We're working as quickly as we can to provide you with the clarity that you deserve. We greatly appreciate your patience and support.

IMPORTANT PSA: May 14th

Due to unforeseen circumstances we are postponing the sale of RuneFest tickets tomorrow (Wednesday, May 15th). We understand this is disappointing, and we'd like to apologise for the inconvenience. We'll update you as soon as we have more information to share with you.

Dear ‘Scapers,

We’re back with some exciting news regarding RuneFest. For those of you that might have missed it, last month tickets for the event sold out just moments after they went live. Due to unprecedented and unexpected levels of demand, all 2000 RuneFest tickets were gone within minutes!

We know many of you were upset that you’d missed out on the opportunity to attend the event, and since then we have been working hard to explore options to increase the event capacity. It is with great pleasure we can now confirm that an additional 1,000 tickets will be available from 5pm BST on Wednesday, May 15th.

These will be the final tickets, so be sure to head over to the official RuneFest website to purchase them as they become available to secure your place!

We'd also like to take the opportunity to reassure you about the initial ticket launch. We worked with our partners to do some digging into the speculation about scalping and we're happy to share the following:

  • 95% of all purchases were for either one or two tickets.
  • Of all the purchases, only 15 were for more than four tickets.
  • Website traffic for both the RuneFest homepage and ticket sale page greatly exceeded the number of tickets available.
  • As part of the measures we are taking to prevent ticket scalping, only one transaction of two tickets will be allowed per debit or credit card. This will include tickets purchased in the last wave, so if you bought tickets in the last release you will not be able to purchase more with the same card on Wednesday.

We are happy that the systems we had in place to mitigate scalping and illegitimate purchases were effective. That said, we will be taking additional measures in this final ticket release to deter any bots or scalpers, most of which will be back-end from our partners but also includes limiting ticket purchase amounts to two per player.

Please also note that ticket reselling is only permitted through the official SeeTickets fan-to-fan resale platform. Any tickets sold through any other means may be cancelled and be invalid for entry to the event.

For additional information about the event, please check out the RuneFest FAQ here.

Note: players who require a Companion ticket, in order to save time when purchasing a ticket please ensure you have the required additional information ready for when you checkout. You can find more in the linked FAQ above under “Do you provide disabled/carer/companion tickets/discounts?”.

We’re extremely excited to see more players than ever at RuneFest and we can’t wait for all of the amazing memories we’ll create and share together.
