Demonic Pacts - Overview

Demonic Pacts - Overview

It's time to take a look at the power Yama has granted you this league.

That's right we've decided to Yamafy the Combat Masteries with a bit of demon magic and transform them in to the mighty and vast Demonic Pacts. And boy oh boy, don't they look great!

We're here to give you all you need to know about this new take on combat for Leagues VI. While Yama has given you plenty of generous options for power this time around, your soul will belong to him by the end of this league.

Before we dive in, we want to make it clear that this system is being tested right up until launch, so there may be some instances where we slightly tweak numbers or descriptions. In that case we will let you know and update the OSRS Wiki Calculator, which will be the source of truth.

The Demonic Pacts will also be limited in PvP, while stat boosts, attack speed increases or melee range increases may work, things like Thorns, Echoes, Blindbag, etc won't work against players.

Overview

For those of you who either haven't played a league before, missed Leagues V: Raging Echoes or forgot what Combat Masteries were, they essentially gave you a variety of specific combat buffs over the three main styles of Magic, Melee and Ranged.

While the previous league gave you a total of 18 choices over three different paths, this time around you've got over 130 to choose from. These do stick to the same three styles but we've also sprinkled in some neutral nodes which don't give any specific style a buff but are there to enhance your builds in different ways.

You can access the Demonic Pacts in the Leagues Menu through the 'Demonic Pacts' button and explore the tree at your own leisure. You'll also have a small tutorial at the end that will give you an overview of the system.

You'll also have a handy summary of everything you've unlocked on the right-hand side!

Pact Points

Unlocking pacts are done with Pact Points, with nodes only being available to unlock if an adjacent node has already been unlocked.

These points will be your currency to unlock your Demonic Pacts. Each pact will cost 1 point and if you gain all of them, you'll have a total of 40 Pact Points!

We've split them out across the different areas which means you'll get:

  • 9 from global tasks (with 2 given during the tutorial)
  • 4 from Varlamore
  • 6 from Karamja
  • 7 for each additional area unlocked

You'll always begin at the centre of the tree and spend your first point on that pact, but after this and as long as you have at least one connected pact unlocked, you can go wherever you like on the 'tree'!

Much like last year's Masteries, these can be achieved through specific tasks related to combat. We've even included a handy little filter in the task interface to show you the specific tasks you need to complete for points.

And, to give you an extra helping hand with your planning, below are the list of tasks within each area:

  • Can you reset the Demonic Pacts?

One of the most interesting elements about leagues is that choice matters! Something we have always considered to be a pivotal part to what makes it special. It is exactly why we've not let you repick relics, areas or Combat Masteries in the past.

While this ethos is still instilled throughout Leagues VI, it is important for us to recognise not only the sheer scale of the new Demonic Pacts but this element of experimentation we are trying with the new system.

So, while you will be able to reset the Demonic Pacts, you will be limited to a small number of them, 3 to be exact. These limited resets, can refresh all of the current Pact Points you've spent, but once you've used a reset it is gone for good... so choose wisely.

You can unlock these resets by completing the following tasks:

    • Defeat 1 unique Echo Boss
    • Defeat 2 unique Echo Bosses
    • Defeat 3 unique Echo Bosses
    Resources

We know this might be a lot to take in, especially compared to the previous iteration, but we're here to provide as much as we can to help you get going with Yama's toybox! While this isn't everything we've got in the pipeline to help you, this collection of goodies is sure to get you going!

    OSRS Wiki Calculator

As there's so much information to take in and we would like you to get your hands on the tree early, we've worked very closely with our friends over at the OSRS Wiki to create a calculator for the Demonic Pacts that mimics how you'll experience in the game.

This way there is less speculation on how the tree works and you have a practical solution to get your hands on. Check out the Demonic Pacts Calculator!
