Quality of Life Week

We all love big, exciting updates like The Land Out of Time, but sometimes it’s good to look back on older content and fix things that didn’t go quite right. This week we’re spotlighting the quality of life changes we’ve made to Elite Dungeons, Dungeoneering, and the monster examine spell. Plus: stay tuned for a recap of two very exciting announcements.

Elite Dungeon Improvements

The Elite Dungeons have been top of our list for a long while. Here are the QoL changes we’ve made to make the Elite Dungeons a better experience for everyone:

All Elite Dungeon reward shops have now been merged into one shop, accessible at all three Elite Dungeon locations.

Players can now unlock a bank chest upgrade for 750k tokens which allows banking inside Elite Dungeons and automatically grants the 20% double loot chance on bosses. The chest can still be toggled for non-boss drops.

Players can now teleport between Elite Dungeons using the chests outside each dungeon if they have completed the 'Impressing the Locals' quest.

Invention combat dummies can now be placed within a short distance, and in sight of, any dungeon chest inside Elite Dungeons.

Celestial and Gemstone dragons inside Dragonkin Laboratory have had their defence slightly reduced.

Dungeoneering daily challenge criteria now allows the player to complete Shifting Tombs and Elite Dungeons instead of completing a Daemonheim floor if they wish.

Messages for getting loot in an Elite Dungeon now more obviously denote whether an item has been stockpiled in your Elite Dungeon chest or not.

You can now use the Seasinger and Tetsu sword weapon upgrade kits on their respective augmented weapons in order to upgrade them. All experience and perks will be kept.

Spiky rune salvage drops in Elite Dungeons are now noted.

Elite Dungeon lucky charms are now able to be converted to work in other elite dungeons at the click of a button.

We’ve also fixed a whole bunch of bugs associated with Elite Dungeons content and made a few more improvements.

Dungeoneering Improvements

We’ve made various quality of life changes across every aspect of Dungeoneering, many of which were suggested by you, the community. Here are just a few of them:

Solo dungeoneers can now take on large dungeons alone.

Two new interface slots have been added to the Dungeoneering in-game status interface. These slots will now display a Lockmelter and Dungeoneering Outfit slot. When the Lockmelter is used this slot will display a tick to show that it's been used by your party for this floor. The same goes for the Dungeoneering Outfit.

A party message will now be shown when someone in your party uses a Lockmelter.

A "Yes, don't ask me again" option has been added to the message received when completing a floor. If you choose this each time you click the end-ladder it'll now try to vote to end immediately instead of prompting you.

There is now a party message to show which player has voted to end a floor.

29 out of 30 DG bosses (except Skeletal Horde) will now automatically trigger the end ladder on death, previously 28 of these bosses forced you to wait for their death animation before allowing you to end the dungeon.

Removed chisel spawns in Dungeoneering as these aren't used anymore.

Gatestone 1, Group Gatestone and Gatestone 2 will now appear as the item on top of a loot pile to allow players to easily pick them back up.

Second Action Bar On Legacy

Legacy mode has also received a small upgrade this week with the addition of a second action bar. Now you can place twice the amount of spells, prayers, or items – and if you like your action bar just the way it was then you’re in luck, because the second bar is toggleable via the settings menu.

Monster Examine Spell Improvements

Monster Examine has been in the game for a while now, and we felt that it was time to update it in line with recent changes to the game. The UI has been updated to show the following new information:

The monster’s hit chance vs you (This value updates per attack).

Your hit chance vs the monster (This value updates per attack).

The monster’s hitpoints.

The Monster's attack, defence, magic and ranged levels.

The attack rate of the monster.

The armour of the monster.

Your base hit chance against the monster with different styles (Also known as affinity).

A number representing your accuracy against the monster.

The monster’s weaknesses (if any).

The monster’s immunity to Poison/Stun/Reflect.

Main attack style.

Max standard hit against you.

Slayer creature status.

Digsite Examines

In all the excitement of the Dig Site Rework, it seems that some of the new supplies were left unlabelled. Across multiple social media we've seen requests to get these added. As a result examine text has now been added to a variety of items and objects in the new and improved Varrock Dig Site.

Land Out Of Time Announcement

We’re SO excited to be able to reveal our big summer update at last! This July, you’ll get the opportunity to travel to The Land Out of Time, a mysterious island inhabited by creatures beyond all imagination.

RuneFest 2019

The Land Out of Time wasn’t our only big announcement last week: we’re also pleased to announce that RuneFest will be returning on the 4th and 5th of October, 2019!

We’ll be back at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre for two whole days of announcements, awards, and frantic skillchip gathering.

Vic the Trader will no longer be accesable with bonds after 23:59 game time on Sunday, June 2nd.

You'll still be able to use any Portable Vics that you have left over, as long as they are unactivated.

LootScape

Our live streams are always a great opportunity to grab some awesome in-game prizes. And this May, we’ve done one particularly hefty update of the LootScape for you!
