The Giant Mimic boss is, once again, on the loose in the Treasure Hunter cavern. Head to the Burthorpe Lodestone and through the portal to battle and loot this tricksy beast every day from 17 November at 00:00 UTC until 21 November at 23:59 UTC.
How to Play
Defeat the Giant Mimic boss in no more than 150 seconds after selecting one of four difficulties: Easy, Medium, Hard and Elite.
Battle the Giant Mimic as many times as you like during the event but you can only loot 5 times per day. You will only use up a loot attempt by killing the boss.
Note - if you die to the boss, this will not be counted as a loot attempt and you can try again without penalty. The boss fight is also safe death, so you will not lose any items.
Treasure Hunter
Additional, tradeable tokens to loot the boss beyond its daily limit can be won via Treasure Hunter.
You can also use your Keys to win small, medium, large or huge loot crates.
Rewards
On defeating the boss (any difficulty), you have a chance to receive the mimic pet as a drop, if you don't already have it.
Loot crates earned from defeating and looting the boss (or won via Treasure Hunter, if you're lucky) can be opened to find an assortment of rewards, including:
- Mini protean packs – each contain 10 protean items
- Rare item tokens
- Scrimshaws of aggression, sacrifice and corruption are back!
- Combat training dummies, springs and feathers
- Mimic hat
- Tradeable override tokens
Hard/Elite-only Rewards
- NEW - 2H sharded weapon tokens, available from loot crates
- NEW - rare tradeable mimic plushie - only available as a drop from the boss
- As before, the mimic tongue cape is available only as a drop from the boss
Ironman
Ironman players can take on Giant Mimic and earn the hat and cape. They cannot – of course – earn additional kill tokens, and will not receive Treasure Hunter-specific loot from the crates.
Have fun!
We hope you enjoy battling this creepy opponent once more.

What is Treasure Hunter?
Treasure Hunter is playable from within RuneScape, allowing players to use Keys to claim in-game items as prizes. These range from useful resources to rare weapons and exclusive gear.
Playing Treasure Hunter is simple - click the treasure chest icon that pops up when you log in. If you've not played before, just follow the on-screen guide.
Everyone gets at least one Key per day, and RuneScape members get two. You can earn more Keys while playing the game, or stock up by redeeming Bonds.
If you'd like more, you can also buy Keys on the website, or by clicking 'Buy Keys' within the Treasure Hunter interface in-game.
