With so many of us cooped up indoors, we’ve been told that an extra Double XP event would very much help ease the pain. So that’s exactly what we’re going to do!
Double XP Weekend: Extended will return on Friday May 8th, running through to Monday May 18th. That gives you 10 whole days to spend your 48 hours of Double XP time in whatever way you wish.
To join in the fun, all you need to do is log in any time during the event. Bear in mind that your 48 hours of DXP will keep ticking down the whole time you’re logged in, so spend those minutes wisely!
You can read the rest of the rules here.
Q: Another Double XP event?
A: We’ve had LOTS of requests for an extra DXP event since players were put into lockdown. Plus, with the new Extended format technically offering fewer Double XP hours than the older Weekend format, this extra one allows those who want it a chance to maximise as they previously would have done. And for everyone else we hope it’s a nice added bonus!
Q: Do I get DXP on Archaeology?
A: Afraid not! Archaeology won’t benefit from any XP boosts for the first six months to make sure that those who want to race to 99 and 120 can do so with a level playing field.
Q: Are we going to get more frequent DXP events in the future?
A: Possibly. The newly-reformatted Double XP events have been received well, with people enjoying the convenience of the 48 hours spread over 10 days. We want as many people as possible to enjoy Double XP, but of course we must also ensure that the game remains healthy. We'll be monitoring your thoughts and keeping an eye on how the event pans out before making any decisions.
Q: Who's winning the race to 99 Archaeology in the Jagex office?
A: No one – everyone’s working from home! But out of all our staff, it's currently Mod Shogun.
Q: Are there many cats and dogs interrupting your Zoom meetings?
A: SO MANY! And they are all very good boys and girls.
