DARKMEYER AND THE HALLOWED SEPULCHRE

Capital of the vampyres and home of Castle Drakan, Darkmeyer has stood for centuries as an imposing and impenetrable blight on Morytania. Within its dark stone walls you will find a multitude of new shops, amenities and skilling methods.

Before the vampyres came to Morytania, the region was known as Hallowvale and was ruled over by the Icyene queen, Efaritay Hallow. She ruled the region from the capital city in the south east, a city that following the vampire takeover became the two cities of Darkmeyer and Meiyerditch. With the exception of the royal family, who had their own private graveyard, most citizens of Hallowvale were buried in a great crypt known as the Hallowed Sepulchre. To protect the sepulchre from grave robbers, it was built with various traps and other defence mechanisms. However, that hasn't stopped someone from trying to raid it. A group of unknown individuals are particularly interested in recovering any of Hallowvale's old currency, Hallowed Marks, from the sepulchre. To help them with this, they are willing to reward anyone who obtains some of these Hallowed Marks for them.

Competitions:

It's no secret that Old School RuneScape players have creativity in abundance. To celebrate this creativity, and to celebrate the upcoming release of Sins of the Father, we're launching two competitions!

Competition #1 - Login Screen Design Competition

The first competition gives you the chance to design the Old School login screen! We want you to design a thematic login screen to be displayed when we released Sins of the Father. Every Old School player will see your design each time they play!

Here's all the information you'll need:

  • The competition begins at 1:30pm BST Saturday May 9th and closes at 1:30pm BST Saturday May 23rd. The Old School team will select four entries to be put to a player poll, which will close on Friday May 29th.

  • The image you submit must be a jpg/JPEG.

  • It must be 545x671 pixels in size. The login screen works by taking an image and mirroring it. When submitting your image be sure that it's half of a login screen (like the examples below) so we can mirror it to create the full login screen. This means any image created will be symmetrical.

  • The flames and window boxes (where players enter their login details) will be placed on top of your image in the positions they currently exist - these cannot be moved

  • There are prizes of course! We want this competition to help illustrators, artists, and graphic designers to level up their kit to help their future creative efforts! 1st place: £200 Amazon voucher (or local currency equivalent) and 12 months of membership. 2nd place: £100 Amazon voucher (or local currency equivalent) and 6 months of membership. 3rd place: £50 Amazon voucher (or local currency equivalent) and 3 months of membership.

  • Send your submissions to the oldschoolcommunity@jagex.com mailbox.

  • Include 'Darkmeyer Login Screen' within the subject of the email.

  • Attach your image in jpg/JPEG format.

  • Include your RuneScape character name (your in-game name) within the body of the email.

  • Include your local currency/desired Amazon voucher currency within the body of the email (e.g. £ or $ or other).

If you're in need of inspiration then take a look at these examples!

The top four player designed login screens go to:

A. DryDoctorEgg
B. Nancyy
C. SOFKAVODKA
D. God of Onion

Thank you everyone that submitted a login screen this year, it was a tough selection!

Competition #2 - 'Story So Far' Video Competition

The second competition invites all budding video-makers to create a video along the theme of 'The Myreque questline: The story so far'. You decide which direction to take. Documentary? Funny parody? Thrilling drama? It's your choice! Have fun, and create a video you think others will enjoy!

Here's all the information you'll need:

  • The competition begins at 1:30pm BST Saturday May 9th and closes at 1:30pm BST Saturday May 30th. The Old School team will select the winning entries and will announce them on Wednesday June 3rd.

  • Submissions must be no longer than 6 minutes.

  • There are prizes of course! We want this competition to help video-makers to level up their kit to help their future videos!

  • Include 'Darkmeyer Video Competition' within the subject of the email.

  • Include a YouTube link (public or unlisted) to your video within the body of the email.

  • Include your RuneScape character name (your in-game name) within the body of the email.

  • Include your local currency/desired Amazon voucher currency within the body of the email (e.g. £ or $ or other).
